Our client recently purchased a new home. It had a satisfactory structural condition, but a lot of sub-standard DIY had been done on the house, which hampered its aesthetics. That is why she planned to execute a complete redecoration on the house to enhance its curb appeal to the latest trends. We were recommended to her by one of our previous clients.
Our client was unhappy with the colour palettes and finishing quality of the house. She desired a high-standard décor for her house that aligned with her personal taste and style. She specifically wanted to brighten up the space with a touch of warmth and cosiness to make the house more welcoming to the houseguests.
Our initial survey revealed that the walls and ceilings had been painted with a silk finish by the previous owners. Whereas our client required a matte finish for her walls and ceilings to provide a more sophisticated look. It is worth noting that a matte finish over silk cannot adhere properly and will start to crack within a few weeks.
That is why we had to start by sanding the walls and ceilings thoroughly in order to ensure a good bonding between the paint and the surfaces. After that, our painters applied 2 coats on the walls and ceiling to provide a seamless and long-lasting finish.
The old wardrobe was not spacious enough to serve our client, that is why she decided to remove it and install a new one according to her requirements.
Following her design choices, we designed and installed a modern and spacious wardrobe from floor to ceiling. We decided to use an eggshell finish for the wardrobe as it provides the utmost protection to interior wood despite being the toughest interior finish. After the approval of our client, we used Farrow & Ball Wimborne White paint which is among the toughest and most durable paints there are.
Our client was highly organised and helped us plan the project in a comprehensive way. However, it is not unlikely to get hit by surprise during a project. In this case, a leak was detected in the roof. It was invisible from the loft bedroom. We detected the leak when we started seeing damping in the wall immediately after we finished plastering the wall.
Nevertheless, our client immediately contacted the roofing company to eliminate the problem so that we could carry on the project. Despite this setback, our painters and decorators managed to finish the project in time.
